Privacy Policy for avSign.lite and avSign Cloud
Last updated: October 16, 2026
ApexVue Digital develops avSign.lite, a digital signage player with local browser management, and avSign Cloud, an optional service for managing workspaces and screens. This policy explains information handled by the player, our Cloud services and our website. Contact [email protected] with privacy questions or requests.
Standalone and local network operation
Standalone playback does not require an avSign Cloud account. The player stores media, layouts, playlists, schedules, settings, local administrator accounts, license information and operational logs on the device. It creates a persistent installation identifier and can use device information for identification, licensing and network operation. These identifiers are not guaranteed anonymous.
When local browser administration, screen discovery or display-to-display features operate, the player communicates with other devices on the local network. It can expose its device identity, name, network address, status and operator-selected media or configuration to the relevant administrator or connected displays. Viewing or transferring files through local administration is different from uploading them to avSign Cloud. Local processing by itself does not upload all of your files to our servers.
You choose which images, videos, audio files and documents to use. The app does not record microphone audio or obtain your contacts or precise physical location as part of the player data flows described here. A permission present on a device is not itself evidence that the corresponding information is uploaded.
Optional avSign Cloud management
Cloud accounts are created separately on the Cloud website using email verification. We handle email addresses, workspace names, memberships, authentication and subscription records to operate those accounts. A player pairs with an existing workspace using a screen-pairing code; pairing does not create a new customer account in the player.
When you request pairing, the player sends its device name, timezone and supported entitlement version. The service creates a device credential and associates a claimed screen with a workspace. Paired players contact the service for assigned publications, media and signed playback allowances. They send heartbeats and publication/playback state or failure reports. These records include device identifiers, last-contact information, revision/state and applicable diagnostic details. They let authorized members manage screens and resolve failures.
Workspace members upload and manage media, layouts, playlists and schedules in Cloud management. Players download and cache assigned publications for playback. Pairing does not automatically upload all existing local content. Authorized workspace members can access shared information according to their permissions.
Optional synchronization, AI and support
If you configure legacy CloudSync or a remote management server, that server can receive device identity, platform/version, network and system diagnostics, content metadata, configuration, playlists and synchronization events. Remote commands can request a ZIP of the local logs directory. Logs may contain file names, content or configuration details, user identifiers and error/stack traces; they are not necessarily anonymous or free of sensitive information.
If you configure AI features, prompts, instructions and any content supplied for the request are sent to the configured AI provider. The Claude integration uses Anthropic. This is optional and uses the provider configuration you supply. Do not place passwords, payment details or other information you do not intend to transmit in prompts or display content.
When you use support integrations, our configured support service processes your email address, ticket/chat text and any supplied device or bundle identifiers. Optional diagnostic attachments can include app/system information, port details, logs and files you submit. Some recognized secrets are redacted by the diagnostic builder; that does not guarantee every attachment is free of personal information or credentials. Support records may be retained after the immediate interaction.
Operator-configured websites, remote media, calendars and other network resources contact their respective providers. Those providers receive requests and network metadata, including IP addresses. Their privacy practices apply to their services.
Purposes, service providers and payments
We use the information described above to provide playback and management, authenticate devices and users, administer accounts and licenses, communicate about support or service, diagnose failures and protect the service against abuse. Operational diagnostics may be used to investigate and improve reliability. We do not sell personal information or use player data for advertising targeting.
Cloudflare provides hosting, database, media-storage, network/security and delivery infrastructure for our services. Email delivery and support providers process information needed to handle service messages and requests. Configured AI and other integration providers receive the information needed for those features. Information may be processed outside your country through these providers.
Cloud subscriptions and separate standalone website purchases use the payment provider selected at checkout, such as PayPal or Stripe where offered. We keep provider references, payment/status history, screen quantities and access dates needed to administer those services. Payment providers process payment details. The Google Play player consumes existing entitlements; it does not offer checkout or collect payment-card details. In the separate Amazon distribution, Amazon handles in-app purchases and receipt validation. Amazon purchasing is not enabled in the Google Play player.
Security
CloudManaged player endpoints use HTTPS and device authentication. Signed playback allowances and device credentials use the player’s secure-storage integration. Other settings and local records are stored on the device using their applicable application/platform storage. This policy does not claim every setting or log is encrypted. Local browser administration and configurable legacy integrations can use HTTP. We therefore do not claim that all app data is encrypted in transit. Protect access to your signage device, local network and configured endpoints.
Retention, local removal and privacy requests
Local app-managed data can be removed through the device’s app-storage controls or uninstallation, subject to the platform’s behavior. Shared folders, exports, backups and copies on other devices may need separate removal. Removing the app or local data does not delete Cloud records or stop a subscription renewal.
Cloud workspace content, device records and associated account information remain while the service operates and may remain after a trial or subscription expires. Expired customers retain read-only workspace and billing access; expiry does not trigger automatic content deletion. We do not promise automatic deletion within 90 days. Expired authentication codes/sessions and older authentication-rate records are subject to scheduled cleanup. Support, operational, billing and security records may remain for service administration, dispute handling, security and applicable legal obligations. Provider-held records and backups are separate from the player’s local storage.
We do not currently offer a generally available, completed self-service Cloud account/data deletion workflow. You can contact the monitored mailbox below to request access, correction or removal and discuss the records involved. Requests are reviewed individually, including identity, workspace authority, other members' rights and any legitimate retention requirements. A request, an account closure, a subscription cancellation and a refund are separate actions; contacting support does not by itself execute them. We will explain the applicable handling and any retained records when responding. This does not limit rights under applicable law.
Contact for privacy and removal requests
Email [email protected] with the subject avSign privacy request. For Cloud-related requests, provide your account email and workspace name, and explain whether the request concerns your personal information or shared workspace data. Do not send passwords, verification codes, license keys, player credentials or payment-card information. To stop renewal, use the provider/Cloud billing controls or specifically request cancellation assistance; an uninstall or privacy request alone does not cancel it.
Website services
Website download links count clicks by date, app platform and approximate country/region supplied by Cloudflare. Campaign tags in a link can be included. The download report does not store IP addresses. Links redirect to GitHub Releases, which serves files and provides cumulative download counts. These counts do not prove installation or use of the player.
Cloudflare Web Analytics provides aggregate visits, page views, approximate visitor country, viewed pages and referring websites. The operations report does not store individual visitor IP addresses or combine browsing and download records to identify people. Standard hosting/security logs can contain request metadata. These website reports are separate from native player operation.
The English website assistant sends your question to a Cloudflare Worker and Cloudflare Workers AI. Its database does not store question/answer text. It keeps short-lived rate-limiting timestamps and uses a random session cookie expiring after seven days. Do not submit private display content, license keys or payment details to the assistant. Website contact forms send the information you enter to our support service. If you submit a displayed newsletter form, its fields are sent to the Mailchimp destination shown by that form; that provider’s privacy and unsubscribe controls apply. Submitting these forms is optional.
Audience and policy updates
The app is intended for adult digital signage operators, aged 18 and older. This refers to people operating the app, not people watching a display. It is not designed for children. We update the date above when this policy changes. The current policy is published at apexvuedigital.com/privacy/.
